I need to display monochrome characters on a monochrome LCD display. So can someone give me a hint which font format to choose for BIG-5 codepage (or equivalent UNICODE char range)? I am using a 16-bit DSP platform so there are memory and MIPS issues. First I have tried TrueType fonts,

Hello Alexei, I've attached a screenshot showing FreeType's rendering of DejaVu Sans at 12 points for both Latin and Cyrillic characters. As you'll notice, it doesn't exhibit the problem you reported. I've also checked at different point sizes, and don't see anything like that with DejaVu I

Hey The attached picture shows that freetype treats cyrillic and latin a, o, c, p, etc. very differently. Can we have some equality please? Cyrillic is not _that_ different from latin and must have the same feel. This is with DejaVu fonts in Fedora Core 6. Alexei snapshot1.png Description:
