As an amendment to this. I tried a different dvd title and the plugin
worked as expected. So, I'm not sure how this will get fixed since
the title Runaway Jury (ntsc region 1) was a rental. I'll post
again if it happens with other titles.

I've only used it on rc2. But assuming all is ok, you should see the
menu item 'backup this dvd title' when looking at the options (e?) for
the title after enabling the dvdbackup plugin in your local_conf.py.
So, have you enabled the plugin?

On Fri,
I've installed the Encodingserver plugin with 1.5-rc3. I followed the
directions for installation, but I do not see the mentioned menu items.
Are any other plugins required for it to run?The server runs, but
nothing in the menus. Please let me know what more information is
needed.
