I think the guide to statistical charts<https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.parliament.uk%2Fbriefingpapers%2Fcommons%2Flib%2Fresearch%2Fbriefings%2Fsnsg-05073.pdf>is particularly good (it reads like a practical guide to the good bits of Tufte).
