Back wit my gimp menus problems. I found it. It was du to fvwm 2.5.6.
After playing a
lot following Dane's advices, I gave up, loaded 2.5.12, recompiled it (the
Debian Sarge package
crashes on my machine), and all is now correct. Thanks for answers, Dane.

More : the menus are pinned and so are said sticky by fvwm.
They aren't sticky either.
I have the DecorateTransient param in my Gimp windows style.
Use FvwmIdent to verify that your style matches the transient
window for the menu.

The compilation stage had been very difficult, because the code changed
