I join the other happy users in conveying my congratulations
on the occasion of Fvmw's 10th birthday.
I recall very well the day when I asked a colleague to bring
his laptop over to show me this new thing called Linux.
It must have been around 1993 or so. I believe he was running

I configured a desert fvwm, and I had fun with *a lot* of options.
next I switched to window maker because I wanted a wm without
configuration problems etc.
Now I'm fallen in love again with fvwm and I want to use only fvwm :)

FVWM is Favorite Virtual Window Manager to me. :-)
I started using FVWM in late 1998 about the time I started using
Slackware Linux, my first Unix-like OS. I stuck with FVWM for about
three years; partly due to my familiarity with it, and partly due to its
light-weightedness and flexibility. I
Thanks!!
I have been using using fvwm since I started using linux - I think it
was the only wm out there besides twm. anyway - i have since tried many
others and have always returned to fvwm - its simple configuration,
very powerful functionality and the vast number of ways i can make it
Happy Birthday to FVWM and all the hard working developers.
Great, stable window manager...used it since RedHat 5.2, my first linux system.

In 1996 I installed my first Linux system, and ever since then I
have been using fvwm. I compared it with dozens of other window

evening: my trackball is broken and I now depend solely

I had my first serious meeting with UNIX workstations when I started

as default in file definitions.inc. The lines are already
there they just have to be commented out. I am off for
tonight and may have no time tommorow morning.
Cheers, Uwe
