Hi all, I fixed the problem, and FVWM is back to sitting on my box looking lovely. The problem was solved by re-making (re-emerging in my case) and updating both DirectFB and XDirectFB to the latest versions, 0.9.18 and 1.0_rc5 respectively. Thanks! Ahmed __ Do

I hope this is fixed now in the current cvs. You may try the next snapshot: I tried that snapshot but it's still not fixed. The behavior is somewhat different, though. When I log out and log back in with the new fvwm, the menu panel is now about 100 pixels below the top of the screen ---
