FVWM: meaning of '+ I', '+ M', '+ D'?

Hi, what is the meaning of '+ I', '+ M', '+ D' when adding stuff to functions or menues? That doesn't seem to be explained in the man page ... Why does '+ I' work and '+I' doesn't?
