Plug in an old VCR into the scart socket and record on the PVR.
The PVR has a dvd recorder integrated so i transfer the hard disk recording
to dvd.

Did you explicitly enable Windows file sharing in the file sharing details?
Also, somewhere in the preferences (it's been a long time since I used 10.4)
there's a place to set your Windows workgroup name. Make sure those are set the
dame on the PC and the Mac.
