In your home account, Library/Mail move the file Envelope Index to the
Desktop and then open your mail account.
When Mail opens you will get a screen almost like it is the first time
you have opened mail. Then there will be a period that the system is
rebuilding all of the mail boxes.

I've ended up with an empty Sent box for one of my POP accounts.
An in-Mail search for sent emails shows them in the Sent Box
But the Box itself shows empty.
Apple support suggests importing
