else works as expected - especially since I removed the bad HD.

I find that iAntivirus is a good antivirus for the mac, from what I've been
reading it only scans for Mac OS X virus and malware ect. But it is very good
when it come to using my system resources plus it's free.
no harshness taken...my orginal post does sound like i have no clue,
but i actually do. I have been around mac's for years just not an
actual owner. I have been around unix for some time as well. Just
wanted to cover my bases so to speak.

b) I ran the AHT...but unsuccessfully. When I booted to the disk as
instructed (nothing but my monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to
