Tis the season for cold wet hardware...
A big box arrived yesterday 60' of brown padding / wrapping paper, and 40' of bubble-wrap later... I had a nice QuickSilver sitting here. Popped 'er open to take a look - quite clean and DAMP. It was around 26 F outside when it was delivered. 70 F inside the house. Folx, tis the season. Hardware that you bring into the house will immediately be covered with condensation, inside and out! Please -- before plugging things in -- remember to let stuff sit for a day to acclimate! Hard drives, especially, need to come up to a reasonable temp. And that water has gotta go! fwiw, - Dan. -- - Psychoceramic Emeritus; South Jersey, USA, Earth. -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. MacAlly Combination Firewire/USB PCI Adapter card Compatibility ?
I have a MacAlly Combination Firewire/USB PCI Adapter card At the Macally driver site http://www.macally.com/EN/Techsupport/Drivers.asp they list drivers for OS 10.1 and 10.2 (jaguar) Macally tech support didn't seem to knowledgeable about it so I wondering if anyone could comment on the likelihood of the 10.2 driver working with later OS versions up to 10.4 ? thank you Cliff -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. Mac Mail and Qwest HD Internet
Hello, folks. Has anybody had experience with getting Mac's Mail client to interface with mail.q.com? I can send mail out via smtp.q.com, but Mac Mail times out on port 587 when it tries to download mail. We are using the Actiontec Q1000 modem/router with Qwest VDSL2 service. Had no problems in the past sending or receiving mail via Cox cable service -- there also using a separate Linksys router and Moto modem. P.S., Just trying to give Qwest a fair shake, that's all! -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Group, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
