very fair prices. The only issue would be if their program

Actually what I REALLY recommend is maintaining regular backups and restoring
the deleted stuff from backup :-), but I try not to rub it in too much in these
cases.
Time Machine or Carbon
Stop using the hard drive immediately.
There are commercial utilities available. You will have to look for one that
still supports 10.5 or has an older version available that will support 10.5.
