To tell you one thing, Mac OS X leopard is really heavy on PPC
computer video cards if they are under 64MB VRAM, more or less the
video performance wouldn't be expected to be normal considering the
fact that the video card you have is original to your machine.
To clarify,
My G5 won't let me install my Photoshop CS3 discs . . . just spits it

Same for ProTools LE 7 disc. Just spit it out.
Installs from Apple will work, but it's almost as if all other brands
won't install.
Any ideas?

I have a 1.8GHz G5 PowerMac. Soon i'll get a double 2.3GHz G5. Do you
see anything wrong with simply removing the hard drives from my
current G5 and placing them in the newer one?
The switch should work just fine, shouldn't it?

Yeah, my first inclination was to do a migration assist. Maybe I'll do
that with the primary drive, and swap the secondary drive.
Unless the drive in the 1.8GHz is larger then I would just use

I almost do! Where I live, we expect August to be our warmest month.
It is drizzling and 61° again today. Our summer's almost been canceled.

Thanks for all the help. but I really blew this question (below). It
turns out that the system just shuts off before the login window comes

I'd never done that before. I had a Gigabit Ethernet G4 for several

It's been years since I've been active on these lists. I come out of

I've had two PowerMac G5s for some time, a 9,1 and an 11,2 — that is,

A few years ago a friend's cat chewed up the antenna on my old G5, 1.8.
Now I need it! Finding a replacement seems rather expensive though.
