Not Recognizing A CD
Hello, The other day I got the bright idea to reinstall Starcraft on my digital audio G4. The program wouldn't run because it needed to install from the Starcraft CD. What is going on here? The optical drive is a Pioneer OEM DVD burner I got from Other World. It has been giving me error messages when I try to burn CDs of late. I have a processor upgrade which required modifying the boot rom so it can run OS X, which is 10.4.11. I screwed up when I modified the boot rom. This computer can run OS X and it can run system 9 under OS X but it can't boot into system 9. Any ideas here? How to install Starcraft
I've tried to install Starcraft on my Digital Audio G4. I try to run the installer program from the CD and I get an error message saying I need to run the program from the original CD, which is in the machine and on the desktop. I am running OS X 10.4.11. I have installed 1.6Mhz processor upgrade. When I installed it I ran the installation CD which came with it and apparently I didn't update the rom so it will boot into OS 9. It will run OS 9 from OS X. I'm not sure what this has to do with it. Like I say I am getting an error message telling me to install from the Starcraft CD, which is what I'm running the installation program from. Thanks I forgot my handle --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. Updating Max OS X 10.4.11
I just got broadband back and I have been attempting to upgrade from 10.4.11. So far none of the system updates will run. I have a Digital Audio G4. I get to the select volume screen and none of my volumes is selectable.
