Well you can go into your Library folder in your home directory folder
and delete everything that says Mozilla (in Application Support,
Mozilla (proper), and Preferences) except Bookmarks.html. About Mail
I'm not sure as I have SeaMonkey for the Composer and don't use the
email -- hopefully you can find it.

Another option even if you can't is to simply make a new folder on
your desktop and move these items above to it so as to test if
something bad is there -- if it still is slow then you can put them
back.

Make sure you have the latest version, make sure your hard drive is
not filling up, or have you got some other hot new app going too that
is eating your RAM ?

If you have a G4 or even a G3 and at least 10.3.9 (I think) you can
get the optimized versions at rpm-mozilla.org.uk

By the way, you do do your macos (security) updates, don't you ?

Also, make sure that the problem is not associated with your ISP, a
particular web site, or your network interface (cable router or dsl
box). And you might try Thunderbird just to check, I think that has
only the browser and the email (??).

 thanks,
 Joan

For myself just to be safe I usually try the new one first, move the
old one to the trash or out on the desktop while you test.

You can drag the old one out to the desktop first and then drop the
new one in your applications folder, or drag the new one from the disk
image icon to the desktop before you replace the old one,

test the new one.
