Disk Warrior-How?
Hello, I recently bought a used Disk Warrior bootable CD version 4.0 for my eMac which is using OS 10.5.5. I found out that version 4.0 won't work on 10.5.5. It needs version 4.1. Since I didn't get a license number with the CD, I have to rely on Booting to make use of the CD. I have an external disk that has OS 10.4.4 so it should work fine. I opened in this external disk and tried to open from the CD by holding down the C key. This didn't work but I was able to bring up a folder on my screen called Disk Warrior 4.0 bootable CD for Mac. When I clicked on it, I got a note Saying The folder Disk Warrior 4.0 bootable CD for Mac could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges.. Can anyone help me to male this CD work on my computer? Can anyone help me to male this CD work on my computer? Disk warrior does not rely Operating system versions. It relies on Gestalt Machine ID¹s. So each Diskwarrior cd that comes out has updated drivers for each machine¹s graphic card etc. It has NOTHING to do with what version of the OS you are running. Unplug any external devices asides from your keyboard and mouse and put the DC in your drive. Reboot and hold the C key down and DW should take over. Alsoft tracks the owner of that number, and will issue updates to the owner. I don't know what they'll do in the event someone transfers the license - best to check with them. Typically the upgrade is not terribly expensive. You'll be able to download it to your 10.4 volume, then use it from there to repair your 10.5 volume. I have to rely on Booting to make use of the CD. You can safely use it to fix your 10.4.4 volume.
