Make sure it is proper CD with valid Macintosh System with all Mac OS
drivers on that CD.

Very enough. Even 32 MiB is enough.

What did you test it on? What version of OS 9 (though all should work on
a Yosemite)?
Do you get a happy Mac?

3 bongs when it is in slot 0, but none when in slot 3.
