Re: OT: Inverter Board Question

It's a flat screen TV. It turns out it is the actual screen.

Thanks for the help though.

I think this is a fine place for that question. However, if you don't
get the information you need, you might try sci.electronics.repair
over on Usenet.

Re: OT: Inverter Board Question

2011-05-16 Thread Jonathan Smith

I don't know what it is that you are referring to, laptop/monitor etc)

So this is general advice:

The inverter powers the backlight and so would only be responsible for issues
relating to that.

Are the lines identical and vertical? Are they coloured red, blue, or white? If
so, then it is likely to be a faulty ribbon that connects the LCD panel.
If it's horizontal lines appearing on the laptop screen the fault may be a poor
connection between video cable and LCD screen, a faulty video cable or LCD
screen failure.

Try connecting it to an external display, if the problem persists, then it is
almost certainly your graphics chip.

OT: Inverter Board Question

2011-05-15 Thread Jonas Ulrich
Hi all, quick question here. Can a faulty inverter board cause distortion to
appear on parts of a screen? Almost looks like a bunch of close together
lines, that causes whatever is displayed in that part of the screen to be
distorted. This only appears after a few seconds of the screen being powered
on.

I realize this is a little off topic, but I didn't know were else to ask
this question.

Thanks in advance!
