No click-THAT sounds like a dead power supply, prior to that you were
likely running an capacitor juice, now it is all discharged. I agree with
Kris re: the diagnostic.
It is repairable, but not fun doing so - first locate a good, used PSU
(from any source), then steel yourself for a good afternoon

is the PRAM battery. I guess that there was a short circuit somewhere
