Spinning ball after reinstall

FOlks I still get the spinning ball after using Disk Utility and reinstalling 
Snow leopard on My macbook Pro. The latter is what the Apple store designated, 
but I am still getting lock ups.Any answers?

Greetings,

After using Disk Utilities why are you reinstalling?
After using DU's check the Disk Ownership to make sure that you are
still the owner.
