Summary: keyboard focus with window raise

Initial Comment:

When you set "Raise IM Window On Events" in
the preferences and/or "Raise Chat Window On Events",
a better behavior would be: raise the window, but
do not assign keyboard focus. Nicer yet, if the
keyboard focus was on another window in this
program, wait for SEND or <CR> in the prior window
before actively assigning keyboard focus to the raised
window.

As it is, if one has two conversations going, when
one is typing to one and the other replies, your
typing is interrupted into the wrong window.

This bug was filed against an old version of gaim. If you are
not using the lastest version, please upgrade. If you are using

Behavior in 1.0.1/2.4.10 is a little better, but the Buddy List
having activity will still remove keyboard focus; and when
windows are set to pop up, keyboard switching is still
immediate and not delayed.

If I remember the message in the dialog box during installation,
it said it was GTK 2.4.7 that I reported this bug for, and
it now appears to be fixed with Gaim 1.0.1 and GTK 2.4.10

Thanks!

Whatever the gaim 1.0.0 windows version comes with, which
looks to be GTK 2.0.

It would be nice if the version showed up in the
help >> about window.

Activity in the Buddy List window also distracts
keyboard focus, and characters get lost, control does not
return to the typing window. MS Wind Gaim 1.0.0

GAIM 1.0.0, the MS Windows port (no specific window
manager, I'm not aware that MS Windows has a choice
of window manager like X Windows does)
