Summary: Adding a Jabber buddy creates a duplicated entry.

Initial Comment:
I have a intermitent problem that happens when I add a new Jabber user. When I
ask another user to see his presence, he is added to my roster. Later, when he
authorizes me, Gaim asks me for my authorization. After granting his
authorization Gaim asks me if I want to include him in my roster (even though I
was the one invinting in the first place), if I click Add I get a duplicated
contact.

This problem doesn't happen with all clients (client of the other part), but
seem to affect all servers. I've experienced it using the GTalk server and a
Jabberd2 server under my control. I can't reproduce it with two instances of
Gaim, but I can reproduce the bug reliably using Gaim and the Gizmo client. I
also believe I saw the bug when interacting with a user of the Orkut client(!).

This bug was previously reported as bug #1583930, but it keeps closing due the
lack of activity from the original poster. More information can be found there.

I'm attaching the Debug Window output of my side of the transaction.

Yeah I think that's pretty obvious..;) Just didn't want to create more
spam (like people here are mad double-posting stupid bugs); Basically I've
removed all groups using ICQ and MSN clients and then went back into GAIM,
because groups are really *not working the way they're supposed to* btw. So
all is well now I suppose I won't be using them until some later date.

nimd4: This report is about jabber, not about ICQ.

beta 6 when dragging an icq contact from group to group a duplicate is
created (in destination group); removing (presumably either, only tried
with one) contact causes it to disappear (not confirmed, too much
confusion, too little time :() - also found to be true when checking with
the icq client (upon removal of one duplicate from gaim) and since a logout
is forced from gaim, once returned (icq client shut down) the duplicate icq
contact is gone also. strange; hope it helps.

Regards,
Vladimir

And actually looking at the debug output more carefully, the other client
isn't telling you that you can add them until the very end so gaim is doing
the right thing I believe. I'll bet if you get the gaim-gaim debug output
you'll spot the difference.
To point to the lines in the current log that I'm talking about you'll
notice that gaim does the right thing when your buddy sends you the
(ssl)(142) line near the bottom where they say type='subscribed' but
they *don't* send that earlier when they send (ssl)(149) and ask you to
let them add you.

Can you possibly try this with beta 6? Can you get the debug output of two
copies of gaim (when it works correctly)? I was pretty sure I fixed this
for the general case, but then I think it got broken again for a short
while and I'm not sure when it got fixed again. I could check but I'm lazy.
