Category: win32 Group: 2.0.0 beta 6 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Ben (sp00kz) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: Memory leak in gaim-2.0.0beta6 Initial Comment: There seems to be a memory leak in gaim-2.0.0beta6 that does not effect usability, but continues to eat up resources until the system starts paging. Windows XP SP2 Fully Patched, Gaim Idles at ~30 MB ram until you start IM'ing people, and then ive seen it go all the way up to 400+MB. 4msn accounts, 3aim, doesn't seem to matter which sorting method (there use to be a leak with sort by log size) or which account has the Messaging window open. Reverted to gaim-2.0.0beta5 and this seemed to fix the problem, but AIM accounts showed up as '(unknown) account type' until you reset them. Any other info I can provide? Thanks Ben -- Comment By: feles aerius (felesaerius) Date: 2007-04-07 15:26 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1313947 Originator: NO Anything happened with this? I'm seeing 100 - 150MB Memory usage with Gaim after about 10 - 20 minutes of using it. Just noticed it IS kind of high for a messaging program considering Firefox uses 150MB regularly. Any details I can provide to help? -- Comment By: Ben (sp00kz) Date: 2007-03-30 09:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=944565 Originator: YES I reinstalled gaim, and gtk from the exe package, and it seems to have fixed the memory issue..
