This is specially true of MSN, where people love changing their custom buddy name every so often. In the buddy list, you can hover over the buddy name to find out which account it is associated to, but there is no equivalent feature in conversation windows. When some person with a weird name messages me, I often have to go to the buddy list to find out who (s)he is, which is irritating. Possible places to add that information would be at the top of the conversation window, at the beginning of the window name, or in the tooltip for the avatar. Keep up the good work! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-20 11:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Gaim will show that alias instead of the custom name. Right-click on the buddy and select "Alias...". If you want to see the original account names everywhere, uncheck "Display remote nicknames if no alias set" in Tools -> Preferences -> Interface. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1160689&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
