Summary: Buddy Pounce: do not fire connect when the account connects

Initial Comment:
I have some buddies that I like to know when they are
connecting by executing a command that sends me a SMS
text, but the event also fires if the network goes down
and up again and the buddy was already online, but I do
not want to get a text SMS in that case.

Would it be possible to make connect buddy pounce to
not fire if the account just got connected?

As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is
still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks.

I will start coding this feature and I would like to know if you will
accept a patch to change the current behavior so the event does not fire if
the account is connecting or implement another buddy-pounce event that only
gets fired if the account is not connecting.

"Changing the behavior would break stuff (e.g. NickServ
authentication via buddy-pounce)."
not necessarily. they could just add another setting for buddy pounces
wether to send it when you connect or not (like i'd like a send file pounce
...)

YEahh, I see what you are saying. Like they are already
online and you logged off and then logged in and you get
that notification that they logged in, even though they have
been. If there's a way to do it when they initially do
something. Hope that makes sense.

So, what about adding a new buddy pounce event?

Changing the behavior would break stuff (e.g. NickServ
authentication via buddy-pounce).
