Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Eduardo Perez Ureta (eperez) Assigned to: Sean Egan (seanegan) Summary: Do not show connection errors on buddy list Initial Comment: I really do not like my buddy list clobbered with any possible connect error. I am moving all the status about any account to the accounts window. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-12 12:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Laager (rlaager) Date: 2006-11-29 13:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=156487 Originator: NO Since Stu says the patch is unacceptable, I'm making this a feature request. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sean Egan (seanegan) Date: 2006-11-29 13:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=199625 Originator: NO We may want to consider moving these to blist mini-dialogs now. Also, when I sign in from another place, my Yahoo, ICQ, and MSN accounts all get disabled. It would be nice to have a "Re-enable all" button or similar, so that I don't need 6 mouse clicks to get online again. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eduardo Perez Ureta (eperez) Date: 2006-11-29 11:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=60347 Originator: YES I am getting these many errors because I have one account for every protocol. So when the network goes down the buddy list gets totally cluttered. I want to see the status of every account. How do you suggest to see it if you do not want to show it in the accounts window? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stu Tomlinson (nosnilmot) Date: 2006-11-15 21:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=309779 Originator: NO It should also be mentioned that this patch is totally unacceptable anyway. You can't just remove lots of code because you don't like it (especially when you don't add it where you say you do). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard Laager (rlaager) Date: 2006-11-15 19:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=156487 Originator: NO The accounts window is for editing account details. It's not something that people need to open often. If you're having problems because of too many connection error buttons, then there are two questions I have: 1. Why are you getting all the connection errors in the first place? 2. If we can't address #1, why not just aggregate them into one button after you get more than 2 or 3? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=1597289&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
