This is particularly annoying when the offline buddies are hidden and I bother somebody with a useless repeated authorization request. Just a small warning that the screen name is already in the list would solve this issue. An option in the preferences - enable/warn/disable duplicate buddies - would be even better. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2007-04-12 12:16 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 Originator: NO As we are closing this tracker, please submit any feature request that is still valid to http://developer.pidgin.im. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ryan Hayle (hackel) Date: 2003-09-14 11:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=94667 The protocols should ideally specify whether Duplicate buddies are even allowed (are they ever, aside from Jabber?), and Gaim should refuse to add them a second time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=803109&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
