Even when both are behind a firewall. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dimitris (sehh) Date: 2004-03-12 12:34 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=457614 I'd say gaim will have acceptable file transfer support from 0.76 with all the new features. sure, icq and msn will be missing, but things may change in the future. hope dies last :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Luke Schierer (lschiere) Date: 2004-03-12 11:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=28833 icq uses a different part of the oscar protocol for its file transfers, a part that we have not as yet reverse engineered. While some other clients have support for it, it is nearly as much work to identify the relevent code and port it as to reverse engineer it from scratch. msn hasn't been done simply because we don't have the time to write it. take a look at the changelog, we haven't been idle. as of this release, due to the efforts of patch writter TimRingenbach, yahoo now has file transfer, and for the next one, thanks to Tim and Nathan, Jabber and IRC are gaining support, and aim's support is improved. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dimitris (sehh) Date: 2004-03-12 05:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=457614 I think gaim supports file transfers for IRC and Jabber (in CVS only i think). For some reason ICQ and MSN where never included, even though people have been asking for them over the years... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Carlos Rodrigues (crlf) Date: 2004-03-04 21:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=358496 "this page" being http://www.hypothetic.org/docs/msn/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Carlos Rodrigues (crlf) Date: 2004-03-04 19:59 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=358496 Gaim does not support file transfers in most protocols, which is a major pain and a showstopper which prevents gaim from being "the" instant messenger for *nix. Amsn supports file transfers and the way to do it is documented in this page. It's amazing how gaim seems to lag in this area... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Ringenbach (marv_sf) Date: 2004-02-26 18:33 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=790708 See ya. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350235&aid=905258&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
