I notice that QQ in gaim cannot connect to server successfully sometimes behind
firewall, while the official QQ from Tencent can do so.  This may be due to
the fact that the official QQ client will try TCP connection automatically when
UDP connection is blocked.  But the built-in QQ TCP servers and ports (if any,
I'm not sure) may be not proper enough.  Here, I post a workable TCP server
list (borrowed from LumaQQ project, http://lumaqq.linuxsir.org):

tcpconn.tencent.com
tcpconn2.tencent.com
tcpconn3.tencent.com
tcpconn4.tencent.com

When you encounter the firewall problem, you can have a try to set the server
to one of them above, and set the port to 443 or 80.

Just a suggestion.  May it be helpful.
