I second (fourth) this one... Maybe it's just me but windows
opening top-left feel physically distant and it grates on
me. Centered on the screen, or memorised, would be cool.

It doesn't have to be centered, but I have Google desktop
docked on the left side, and it always covers new IM windows

I would add: centered on the "primary monitor", in case 
there is more than one.

It would be even better if gaim was able to remember the 
size/position of im-windows for each contact
