If you doubleclick on the buddy, it opens up an IM tab, closes the information window, and then reopens it. The information window stays on top of everything, even when you switch to a different window. Additionally, it does not dissapear. The only way to get rid of it is to open the buddy list window back up and quickly put your mouse over one of your buddies.
