I know there are several closed duplicates for this, but did not see open tooltip bugs that match. 1. Open a conversation window from your buddy list. 2. Move the conversation window so it obscures a portion of your buddy list. 3. Using alt-tab, or clicking on the title bar, bring the buddy list to the front. 4. Find a buddy who would be obscured if the conversation window had focus. Double click that buddy. 5. It will take up to 1 second for the tooltip to appear. During that time, do not let your mouse move within the boundaries of the buddy list. Voila. You have a stuck tooltip for your buddy at the location of your mouse. The tooltip can only be dismissed if you move your mouse within the visible boundaries of the buddy list, regardless of whether the buddy has focus. No event is written to debug window when the tip sticks or clears. Ingredients: Gaim 1.5.0 (but has been happening since for 10 months, across versions).
