If that's the only existing implementation then I think we'll look into
making our own improvements, perhaps to share with the community.

I've run into two issues, however.
1) When using "set allelic scope" I get the following error:
Fatal error: Exit code 1 ()
freebayes: unrecognized option `--min-repeat-length'
did you mean --min-repeat-size ?
2) When using a vc
That indeed looks like a better solution. I'll use the workaround for now
and update once setup_python_environment is implemented.
