[galaxy-dev] Shared Data as options for tools

Hi all,

I have looked and I found only one 
place 
where this question was asked back in 2012 but no answers. My question is how 
can I specify a dataset in a shared library without importing the dataset to my 
current history? Ideally it would be something like param< 
type="history_dataset" ...> but if that isn't an option is there a way to 
plugin ajax or some other scripting to grab options to fill the list?

Hi all,

Is there a way, or better yet a coded example, of how to list the options
for an input parameter using the contents of a shared data library?  Up
until now I've use Python scripts to get the input  file options from a
directory listing for a hardcoded path on the server, but it'd be much nicer
to draw the list from a Shared Data folder, for maintenance and metadata
purposes.
