FWIW, I would prefer to see tabular display, particularly when working with
(over the shoulder of...) biologists - it makes it much easier to follow the
data and is, as Peter says, more in line with what they expect.

There are occasions (cut-and-paste, mostly) where raw text is better, for
me.  Is there perhaps a possible compromise where the user can select
between raw text and tabular display?
