Re: [galaxy-user] server problem?

2014-04-10 Thread Jennifer Jackson

Hi Sarah,

Using the public Main server for workshops is not recommended, however a
Cloudman Galaxy is a great option. Amazon has a teaching grant program
to help with funding that is very generous (Galaxy is free! grant is for
cloud resources data/compute).

For next time, here is the link to get started:
http://usegalaxy.org/cloud

Please let us know if we can help more when setting up, the
galaxy-...@bx.psu.edu list is good for cloud support questions,

Best,
Jen

Hi there!

I am teaching a workshop in East Africa, right this second, and we are
trying to use a tool in galaxy (not too complex, files are not huge)
to illustrate RNA-seq analysis. The server is SOOO slow-- is
there a problem? Should we abandon ship and teach them Tophat using
the command line? Please advise, at your earliest convenience-- I
have a room full of impatient newbie hackers ;)

Thank you!

Re: [galaxy-user] server problem

2012-05-21 Thread Jennifer Jackson

Hello Elaine,

The Galaxy public instance experienced a temporary cluster problem that
is now resolved. Your job should now queue. Should it fail with a
cluster error, please re-run.

Our apologies for the inconvenience,

Jen

Dear Galaxy-support,
I could not use Galaxy nearly for 2 days, I think there is a problem
with the server. If I 'intersect' data sets then it just turned to 'job
is wating to run' and never moved on. I have already informed other
people working in another city, and they also have the same server
problem. I live in the Netherlands (I don't know if you need this info).
Could you please give me some information about this problem and how
long it will take? Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Elaine Wong
