As I previously said, when I add a new row (by first clicking the New button in my DataBrowser control) / change data displayed in my DataBrowser control and then click the save button (in my DataBrowser control), it comes up with a dialog box saying 'Connection not opened' with OK button only

Did the Object solution not solve your problem? It should work in all cases when the name of the function/property is the same at all calls/property readings. If you use different symbol names each time, maybe you can use something like this: Try Return Object.GetProperty(object, name) Catch
