Re: [Gambas-user] installing Gambas on Cygwin

2016-11-16 Thread Moviga Technologies
But, wait for some other people to chip in with some more wisdom on
this, because perhaps there are smarter ways to do it, than to install
each package individually (which seems a lot of work) :)

now so that it will only be false in windowed mode, and true when using

[Gambas-user] Flyer Invasion Game - And a possible bug-report

2016-10-31 Thread Moviga Technologies
Hi!

This weekend I had some fun making a simple game in SDL that you can
find on the farm, or download here:
http://forum.gambas.one/download/file.php?id=12

There is a warning in the console in the Gambas IDE that says:
gbx3: warning: 2 allocation(s) non freed.
Not sure where that comes from, but as C++ needs to free up stuff, I
suppose it has to do with the gb.sdl2 component?

[Gambas-user] How to change cursor position in TextEditor?

2016-08-11 Thread Moviga Technologies
I am trying to change the position of the cursor, but I cannot figure it
out.

I've tried ToPos() which seems to be the logical solution.

I've also tried ToColumn() and.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

See attached project.

There is also very little documentation available for the Editor
component.

Re: [Gambas-user] New gb.web.form component

This is starting to look really cool Benoît :) Good job!

Some years ago I made a system for a company in PHP that heavily relied
on forms. It's purpose was to keep track of projects, customers,
warehouse, carried out and pending repair tasks, employees, and so
forth. With this I could make it in Gambas in much shorter time :)

Perhaps you could add a set of predefined Web-GUI styles (that are CSS
files) and ability to make custom styles that are remembered by the IDE.

I.e. Google material, bootstrap, amazon, github, and so on...

Re: [Gambas-user] New gb.web.form component

2015-11-13 Thread Moviga Technologies

All controls and controls elements should have a specific CSS class
(whose name begins with "gw-") that will allow to customize their
apparence.

If there is a "style.css" file in the root folder of your project, it
will be automatically used by the gb.web.form component to generate the
web site stylesheet.

That way, you can customize the look of everything as you like.

As for widget themes, I will make one default, and let Gambas users
define the others!

Yes, I understand this. I was just thinking it could be handy with a
dropdown list with some extra styles besides the default one - kind of
like with the editor styles.

I found two bugs. See attached picture.
If I put a timer and set Enabled to true and hit run, the page does not
load.--

This looks interesting. I think if you want to stay on par with HTML5,
you should not use inline CSS though.

Also, I believe that using flexboxes for layout containers would be a
very good idea :) (take a look here:
https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/a-guide-to-flexbox/)

Form controls should also be implemented, but that I believe you have
already planned?!

That's a good idea! To me, two big hindrances for Gambas to gain
popularity is a lack of PR and resources to get people going.

If we could have a professional video displaying the core strengths of
Gambas, that could be a very good way to get more people involved.
A quality video series on Gambas would also be really great. Somebody
also recently talked about getting Gambas on this programming show on
Twit... how's that going?

Re: [Gambas-user] WebView, again

2015-10-16 Thread Moviga Technologies

If you want to use web technologies, that is almost a must. But, you can
get pretty far by just searching for examples on Google and modifying
them to suit your needs. There are millions of questions asked about JS
on the net, and very often what you are looking for. I found this
example by searching for something like "contentEditable caret parent".
When you find the element in focus, you can simply use this Jquery
method: http://api.jquery.com/parents/ It will tell you all the
parent(ancestors) elements, while this http://api.jquery.com/parent/
will tell you the parent. It is pretty simple :)
