Sounds like fun--you should also be able to turn the stereos to full blast
and listen to the terrified kids shriek as they turn them on.

Hi Josh,
I figure STFC 2.0 will likely be free. First, 1.0 was free, and it would
be kind of pointless to go from a free product to a paid one. Second, I
don't really want to deal with the hastle it would cause to properly
license the Star Trek logo, ships, etc from Paramount. Third, there are
Hi,
I highly doubt it would run on ppc or Smartphone. There isn't enough
memory to keep it loaded. Especially not on PPC 2003, where everything
is in RAM. There is only about 10 MB of flash on the PAC Mate. 64 MB of
RAM wouldn't hold the game properly.
Other operating systems just refuse to run
OK, so that last one was a mess. I put the list signature in the header,
not the footer. OOPS. Now, this one should be better. Again, please send
me comments about this off list.

I looked at games for pocket pc and some of them are pretty good it sounds
like they have lots of sounds and things. It might run if it were modified a
bit.
only way to find out is to try it.

Would those be found on the Sound RTS site? Admittedly I haven't worked on
it lately because I can't get certain building blocks, namely the items, to
behave properly.

Hi Gabe,
I believe there is a python 2.5 runtime for Windows CE, but I'm not
certain how Sound RTS would run on the Pacmate.
The pacmate has a limited amount of memory and storage space compared to
a fully qualified Windows or Mac system.
You may encounter hardware limitations in running Sound
Hi Gabe,
I would recommend updating to Python 2.5 unless there is some specific
reason to stick with the older 2.4 runtime.

In fact, for the multiplatform version, I had to go back to Python 2.4
because many librairies are not yet available for Python 2.5. And the
precompiled pyc files for Python 2.4 will not work with Python 2.5.

Hi,
I do see the issue now. I am only a part time Python dev so I haven't
had to many issues finding what I want for Python 2.5, but I haven't
done anything as complex as Sound RTS yet.
Let's hope they update those libs to 2.5 soon.
