First I would like to say thanks for the help.
However I have done all that I have been suggested to do.
I know that when I go into Kitchensinc it don't even make the pop sound
that it normally makes when it starts up.
Could it be something with the sound?
If so how can I fix this?

try installing espeak from espeak.sf.net/test/latest.html or google
espeak test latest it'll come up.
then try setting it as default just type text to speech in the search
box and the control panel dialog for tts should come up0 where you can
set default tts and stuff.

If you fire up your run dialogue, and paste in the following, and hit
enter, it should let you choose/select a default SAPI voice for your
machine - and, see which one is selected, etc.:
C:\Windows\system32\Speech\SpeechUX\sapi.cpl

When I bring up the Kitchensinc program sapi does not speak any of the menus.
How can I fix this issue?
