wondering how does the experience boost feature work? I think I have an
idea of what it is saying, but not fully.
Maybe someone could give an example?

Here is an example:
On the first day, you earn 4096 exp.
On day 2, you earn 8192 exp.
On day 3, you earn another 4096 points.
For those three days, you collected 16384 experience. The quickstone
bonus will give you an extra 1638 general experience points.
