This is less true, of Windows 8. Windows 8 got rid of a lot of the arrow theme stuff, and 3-D graphics animations, at least in terms of the desktop environment. Obviously if you're using apps with these kinds of things in them, it still remains true. But one reason why windows 8 is so much faste
