Did that and the demo is in the executable file itself.

Actually it's not. Locate the mod.cfg file in ID1 and open it in a
text editor. You'll see the line:
startdemos demo1 demo2 demo3
Add // to the beginning of it so that it then looks like:
// startdemos demo1 demo2 demo3
this will stop the demos from running.
Save the file
yep, done all that, and when it says chose start game the demo goes
on. No way to get out, restart to normal play or even go to normal
play not a option. the consol window comes up, but still just goes to demo.
Read all the a grip stuff, witch in some parts the manual lacks very
much on play.

In the console, type the word 'pause' without the quotes. this
will stop the demo. Typing 'quit' again, without the quotes, will
quit the game and get you back to the launcher

Oh, so that's just a demo? That's not us playing the game? I wondered what
all that ruckus was about.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so

Strange that you should not be able to stop things though.

Hay Cara! Sly Here! Hope you are Well! Question for ya. I can't find the
j q 4.1 file with the extension .mod on your page. I see a .mod link to get
4.0 but not .1. I see three links, First JQ41src/. Then the second is
Jedi Quake 4.1 Documentation.rtf, Then the last one is Jedi Quake
