How can I register Lords of the Galaxy as a demo file? When I paste the demo
number listed in the documentation, and then paste it in the configure program,
it only takes six of the digits, and in the docs there are nine.
Pleas help.

Many smtp servers will not accept a fully qualified domain name (fqdn).

The reason for this is obvious. The DS9 computer was a Cardy. If you
think about it, any time the station transporters or the computer talked
they were obviously non-federation style. However, when they would beem
from the Defiant and use its computers it was the familiar Starflete

Hi Ken,
Yeah, I know what you are getting at. However, I think I have already
decided what format the game will take and how it is going to operate.

I played everquest a few years ago when I think compuserve was still

it differs from nethack in one important respect should be possible.

Hi all,
Here is an early draft of the ships you may find in the new Star Trek
game. All technical specifications on the ships have been pulled from
reliable Star Trek sources, and this should give you an idea of the wide
range of abilities and weapons of each type of ship.

Sounds quite good.
However there is this copywrite issue with using voice files.

This draft looks great. It will be fun choosing ships based on available
firepower, verses shield, vs warp capabilities.

Hi Tom,
Well, You can have an ally and still be forced to deal with an element of
them. For instance, what if a rogue ferengi, for a huge amount of money was
working with some romulan military commanders who want to take the dominion
war oppurtunity to seperate the romulans from the alliance
Hi Shaun,
Allan wasn't speaking of voice files. He was mentioning voice commands
via some form of dictation like a built in dragon naturally speaking.

Hi,
I have tried hard to get as many differing options as possible and stay
in the limits of the cannon Star Trek specs.
So far this is the short list. I am working on a slightly longer list
off list and searching for more raw data to fill in the gaps of what I
don't know.

Tom,
Ok, that makes more sense, and from what you described, it is almost like
choosing a weaker ship is like choosing a difficulty level. Harder game
play, choose the excelsior, easier game play, choose the enterprise.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Allan,
True. One of the nice things about Trek has always been that it has been
flexable enough to take in all kinds of odd storylines and somehow they
sometimes become cannon. For example, the mirror universe and
alternative histories that come up in books and shows. Heck, I read a

Hi Allan,
Precisely what I was thinking. I am not sure if I am going to include
experience levels as such. As you said if you pick a wealker ship
without all the bells and wistles your difficulty just went up several
notches.
If you pick Enterprise or something on that calaber you are like
Hi Phil,
Good idea. I could have a three way setting such as below average,
average, and above average such as:
U.S.S. Enterprise
Sovereign-Class Battle Cruiser.
Armourment: Above average.
Shields: Above average.
Speed: Average.
U.S.S. Farragut
Excelsior-Class Medium Cruiser.

Hi Tom,
Exactly. Star trek is so versatile when it comes to story lines that you
could literally do anything and still come up with something to bring
everything back to normal to follwo the major story arc. Yesterday's
enterprise is an excellent example where the player might find themselves

You can run it just fine. You won't get the speech of the ship's captain

Hi Allan,
The only issue I have with doing the game that way is the possability of
having to design a mini story for every single mission.
However, now that I think of it if I take Phil's suggestion and have
