Re: [Audyssey] popomundo

2006-11-29 Thread Tommy Carroll
I would recommend this game as well. If you're into realistic games in which
there is truly 100 percent control by the players, you've gotta play this.
My name is Eddy Butler, I'm in London and in Distorted. One thing you have
to be prepared for if you join this game is feeling way behind and not being
good for a long, long while. Things cost a lot and to even put on an okay
show you have to have so many things set right. Don't get discouraged,
though, the game is amazing!

[Audyssey] popomundo

2006-11-29 Thread Liam Erven
A week or so ago, a friend of mine got me in to this new game. I didn't
post about it right away, because I wanted to see if I'd end up playing it
for more than 2 days.

I'm hooked, so here it is. It's called Popomundo. You create a character,
and venture out in to the world to become a superstar. You can learn to
play an instrument and become part of a band or go solo. What makes the
game cool is it's depth. There are lots of things to learn, yet it is very
easy. Another draw is that if you live a super busy lifestyle, you don't
have to spend hours playing. You log in, set some things, check on your
character, and then log out. I really suggest giving the game a try.
There's a lot to learn and it can be a little overwelming at first, but the
game flat out rocks.
If you are looking for my character, my name is Hank Murray and I'm hanging
out in London. So give me a message when you connect, and I'll try and
point you in the right direction.

To play, visit www.popomundo.com.

[Audyssey] USA Games Holiday News.

2006-11-29 Thread Thomas Ward

USA Games Entertainment

Holiday News

Nov. 9, 2006

Introduction

Greetings gamers,
There is allot happening for USA Games customers and supporters this
holiday season. We have a couple of releases coming up as well as a
completely new and improved web site going up. So read on to get the scoop.

Star Trek Final Conflict

At last after two years of development, testing, and many setbacks we
are happy to announce STFC 1.0 is nearly complete and is ready for final
release. As most of you know the code was lost for this title, but I
managed to sort through my betas and found one stable enough to release
to the general public. There will be a few miner bugs and snags in 1.0,
but for the most part it is stable and ready to ship. All that really
needs doing is finishing the users guide, rebuild the installer, and
post it on the web site for download.
As many of you may have heard this 1.0 final release will be released as
free ware. There will be no charge for the full release, and among the
changes is the full version of the game, support for DirectX 9.0C 2006,
Microsoft .NET 2.0, and uses Innosetup for installation.
Although, we know the release will between now and Christmas we aren't
prepared to set a specific day and time. More information will be
announced on the Audyssey mailing list, the USA Games mailing list, or
our web site
http://www.usagames.us
when the announcement is ready to be given.

Montezuma's Revenge

I'm aware many of you will be interested in venturing in to temple 2.
However, I've not been able to complete that level do to time. However,
I do have plans to update Montezuma's Revenge with support for .NET
Framework 2, a new manual, and other miner bug fixes, changes, and updates.
More information will be announced as the release is nearer to
completion of the next update.

USA Games Web Site

As mentioned before the USA Games web site
http://www.usagames.us
is undergoing a major upgrade. It is not certain when the new site is
going to be launched, but we do intend to upgrade this month.
Many of the new changes will include a slightly new look and feel to the
web site. For those interested we have dropped the split frame view and
have decided to switch to a more traditional table layout for our site
navigation section. We feel not only is this a bit more accessible I am
told the appearance of the site looks better by having two rows of
organized links along the top and bottom of each page.
In addition we will be adding more to our download center besides our
own games. We will have links to download the latest Ubuntu Linux
installation disks, links for other third party software, and we will
eventually be putting up links to other places as well.
This is likely to be an ongoing project through December, and probably
on in 2007. However, when done USA Games will have more content, and be
more than just a place holder for our games and projects.
At this point we do not plan to discuss all the changes we will be doing
to the site, but when it is launched we will certainly let you know.

Re: [Audyssey] mutant humans

2006-11-29 Thread Kim Etheridge
Ugh, that's scary! Speaking of mutant humans, and mutant dogs, I wonder how
big they are. I picture mutant dogs to be smaller than mutant humans, since
they require less ammo to subdue them, whereas mutant humans require a
little more. I wonder if the boss is the biggest monster there is, or if
it's the temporal disturbance. I picture the gelatinous blob to be the size
of a Jell-O log. I wonder what it's shaped like. Yucko! Not to be getting
off the subject, but I wonder sometimes about some rooms I go into while
playing Sod, and there's an annoying noise like some equipment. I have to
just shoot it and blow it up just to concentrate. Plus, there's the fan room
on level one, and if you shoot it while you're really close to it, it can
kill you. I just wait till I open the door at the end, and if a mutant human
or dog comes, I'll shoot, and it blows up the fan and possibly kills the
monster. I'm not saying it always works, but it shuts the fan up. Plus, I
don't understand the part of level one that has an opening in the floor. Why
is there a hole in the floor? I know that if you pull the sewer cover on
level five, then there'll be a hole in the floor, and you'll hear the water
sound on level six which means you're close to the sewage system. Also, why
does the crate on level three have a gelatnus blob? Why can't it have other
equipment, like weapons, ammunition, or maybe a proximity or timed mine?

2006-11-29 Thread Bryan Peterson
That's the highest you can get. But it does seem that you can decline to buy
the sword the first time and come back later, so no worries. Just try some
other adventures.
It ain't pretty when the pretty leaves you with no place to go.

Re: [Audyssey] question about selling cup in Sryth

2006-11-29 Thread Søren Jensen
Hi Yvonne.

How much gold do you have? The hale blade costs 7500 gold. If you don't have
enough gold when you have get 2500 gold for the cup, you can try to complete
the mission in Westwold in Hawkler. If you have the Blade of the Voks from
the 7 Knights, you can also sell that weapon to get a lot of gold.

Hope it helps.

Best regards Søren.

[Audyssey] question about selling cup in Sryth

2006-11-29 Thread Yvonne Alaniz
Hi Everyone,
I am new to the list and to Sryth and I am having a difficult time with a
few things. Right now it is selling the gold cup for the hail sword in
Trithik. I saved my game after I went to the shop the first time and I want to
know if I can still get the sword or if I have to restart the Charecter? I
have tried haggling over the price but the most I get is 2500 gold Please help?

Re: [Audyssey] Gaming on Windows Vista?

2006-11-29 Thread Ari
I've eventually found some articles. Have selected some interesting parts
below.
However, one feature that hasn't racked up many column inches is the new
version
of Microsoft's graphics API (application program Interface), DirectX 10.
All
current games and hardware use DirectX 9c, but with Vista comes a whole new
API.
Unlike previous versions, DirectX 10 (or Windows Graphic Foundation as it
was
known at one point) will be totally new and therefore have limited - if
any -
backwards compatibility with the current crop of DirectX 9 cards.
 Microsoft has
stated that DirectX 9 will be supported side-by-side to an extent with a new
version 9L, but it won't have the same power as cards operating fully with
DirectX 10.
still look good, PC gaming can only
compete if it has an overhaul, which DirectX 10 should provide. One of the
biggest criticisms of PC gaming is that games can look so different
depending on
the hardware you have installed. By unifying some of the underlying
technologies in the hardware and the software that the games are written on,
this should change for the better.

The audio stack in Vista is completely new. Microsoft moved sound card
drivers
out of the kernel, which means they can't crash the whole PC. This choice
has
improved performance enough that rewriting the stack - in 32-bit floating
point
operations rather than 16-bit integers - didn't slow it down. Gone are the
incomprehensible sliders of the XP sound controls; these are replaced by
volume
controls for your speakers, phone line, microphone, line in and CD audio.
And
there's a huge improvement if you ever use headphones with your PC; the new
OS
lets you choose the volume level for each application separately, which
means
that you can turn your music up without being deafened by system sounds.
Better for gaming?

Windows XP is the gamer's OS. Forget consoles, forget pocket gaming
systems: XP
is where it's at. With XP's dominant position in the gaming world, Vista's
going to have to go a long way to improve on XP. However, with the release
of
RC1 the signs are good.

Starting with the basics, Vista comes with an expanded suite of built-in
games.
The familiar faces are all there, but they've been given a makeover and now
use
Vista's new graphics tools. New games include smoothly animated Mah Jong
tiles
and an educational game for children. There's nothing revolutionary, but
the
new look and feel and additional titles make Vista's out-of-the-box gaming
experience more than equal to XP's. The new Games Explorer should show the
majority of games you've installed, making them easier to find and launch.

The answer is simple. MS is doing what it always has. Look at the
current Windows. XP has been out for some time now, yet there were still
service packs for Windows 2k which in many ways was even more stable
than XP itself.

Releasing Vista is no different. MS will support XP for a while yet and
continue to improve upon it. Eventually Windows 2k support will drop and
then XP. By then the next encarnation of Windows will be out I'm sure.

Re: [Audyssey] mutant humans

2006-11-29 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello Nicol. Good message. I do not know where David got the sound for
the mutant human. However, remember the reason for the mutants in SOD
was because of the experiment going wrong.

I don't know if you know this, but I made an audio walkthrough for SOD
when version 1.2 came out. Feel free to grab it if you like from
http://games.asmodean.net.

Take care.
