Hi tom.
I certainly approve of the downward slashing with swords, -- especially
as I tend to reserve them for spiders, and thus usually have one or two I
don't use if I run into less spiders than I have swords. imho this will make
the game a good deal less frustrating, though keep in the

In week 16 my Browns beat the Texans 24 to 6. So I have completed my first
ever perfect regular season. So now all I have to do is to keep winning all of
the playoff games.
Good luck and BFN

Hi Davy,
Well, as to the sand floors it would be a major pain to put back into
the game since allot of time was spent between Beta 2 and Beta 3
removing all reference to it in the code, and I removed the sound effect
files from the installation. In any case even if I returned sand to some

HiDark,
I am definitely going to try and keep the challenge up in the game. One
way of doing this will be by increasing the hit point damage the enemy
can do per attack. Everyone has told me at one time or another when
monsters attack they are kind of whimpy, and the only serious challenge

Beta 9 runs smooth! I have not found any bugs in it so far.

Hi folks.
For all those who know me not, I have returned. I am Clement, and have been

A thought: Any way to have the game set so that, let's say, on the easy
difficulty level, landing on a monster won't kill you and snakes can be
killed, snakes cannot be killed on the medium difficulty, and you die and
snakes cannot be killed on the other 2 difficulties? This might be a
I personally feel that the game should be more challenging, but that is
just me. I'm with Charles on this one, but I understand your reasoning
for changing the way you are. I wonder. Can something be made so that
snakes cannot be killed with a sword on higher difficulties? Same with

Hi Tom,
I think breaking a sword with every kill is un-realistic.
Maybe it could dull the sword and would take several hits to kill a
creature.
Instead of extra swords you could find sword sharpening stones that would
make your sword sharper.
Then there is the landing on snakes, it should kill
You're still in good form. Good humor. Thanks.

Hi Charles,
Well, my greatest worry here is altering the game so much it both loses
its challenge, and alters it so much it is no longer Montezuma's

as well be thinking up a new game, because in many ways it is truly

Hi Raul,
This isn't really a question of possability. I could certainly modify
the game to do different actions based on difficulty. The problem is how
much time do gamers want me to spend delaying the release just to tinker
around with adjusting this stuff when I have several levels to script,
Where is the challenge with a tone then?
I mean, the way it currently is requires practice and good listening. I
don't want the game made to be so easy that it quickly loses its replay

Hi Shaun,
Well, for the moment Beta 4 will allow you to kill all monsters. That
feature will probably stay since I have become interested in it myself.
As for a jump warning I personally don't think so. it would make the
game too easy in my opinion, and it would lose even more of it's
Hi Charles,
No garentees about it appearing in Beta 4. I will consider it, and

Hi Raul,
Agreed. I am afraid if I listen to much to the requests here on the list
and off it those requests will eventually make the game so easy no one
will want to play it.
Poeple will complain the game is to easy, it is boring, there is no
replay value, and the sad thing is it would be the
Hi Trenton,
That is a good point. For the moment killing snakes is a probationary
feature nothing more. We will see if it is generally exceptable, and
beta 5 will be the final decision either way.

Hi Charles,
It is possible. It just depends on how well the game does during 1.0,
and if there is much to add for a 2.0 release.
Obviously, I won't abandon the game if there are upgrades neccessary for
Windows upgrades, but I don't see those updates requiring hours of work
