 Hi,
This is Ian Humphreys from Spoonbill Software. You are receiving this
email because you have previously ordered a blind accessible game.

This is to announce the release of the seventeenth game in the Blind
 Gamers series, BG Brainiac.

BG Brainiac is Spoonbill Software's version of a game you may know as
Concentration. It is blind accessible but graphics allow sighted players
to also play along with blind players. Each player can choose to either
use the keyboard or the mouse.

At the start of the game, all the tiles are face down on the table.
Players take it in turn to turn up two tiles, trying to turn up two whose
pictures match. If the pictures match, the two tiles are removed from the
table and the player gets another turn. If they do not match, the tiles
are turned face down again and the next player turns up two tiles. The
player with the most matches when the table has been cleared is declared
 the winner.

If you can't find someone else to challenge you, you can always play a
single player game, attempting to beat your previous highest score. The
single player game uses an innovative scoring system which rewards
multiple successive matches. So the better your memory, the higher your
 score will be.

It is a game of memory and concentration, so put on your thinking caps and

exercise your brain with BG Brainiac!

As with all Spoonbill Software's Blind Gamers games, it is self-voicing,
obviating the need to use your screen reader.

If you would like a copy, reply to this email requesting BG Brainiac and
I'll send you the download link.

If you would prefer not to receive notification of new or upgraded games,
just ask to be removed from my mailing list.

I tend to be more geared towards the japanese arts... and only three really
have my attention. Being Aikido, Kendo, or iaido. I know of others, those
just see the most appealing.

You know, talking of Hwoarang, I liked tekken 5 because of the fact so many
languages were represented. You don't hear Manderin or Korean spoken much in
video games... I've never heard Manderin, however, I have heard cantoneee in

You can play a single player version of the game and rack up points, and

Gamers series, BG Brainiac.

BG Brainiac is Spoonbill Software's version of a game you may know as
Concentration. It is blind accessible but graphics allow sighted
players to also play along with blind players. Each player can choose
to either use the keyboard or the mouse.

At the start of the game, all the tiles are face down on the table.
Players take it in turn to turn up two tiles, trying to turn up two
whose pictures match. If the pictures match, the two tiles are removed
from the table and the player gets another turn. If they do not match,
the tiles are turned face down again and the next player turns up two
tiles. The player with the most matches when the table has been
cleared is declared the winner.

If you can't find someone else to challenge you, you can always play a
single player game, attempting to beat your previous highest score.
The single player game uses an innovative scoring system which rewards
multiple successive matches. So the better your memory, the higher
your score will be.

It is a game of memory and concentration, so put on your thinking caps
and exercise your brain with BG Brainiac!

As with all Spoonbill Software's Blind Gamers games, it is
self-voicing, obviating the need to use your screen reader.

If you would like a copy, reply to this email requesting BG Brainiac
and I'll send you the download link.

If you would prefer not to receive notification of new or upgraded
games, just ask to be removed from my mailing list.

[Audyssey] singing synthesizers

2010-10-22 Thread Phil Vlasak

Hi Folks,
Here are three singing synthesizers!
LOLA, LEON, and MIRIAM.
VOCALOID is an entirely NEW kind of instrument, that uses the natural tone
and articulation of a real human voice as its source - allowing the user to
synthesize incredible vocals, the like of which have never been experienced
before. It can also sound remarkably like a real singer if required, with an
unprecedented degree of realism for a synthesizer.

VIRTUAL FEMALE VOCALIST, powered by Yamaha VOCALOID 1 Singing Synthesis
Technology

Although the DOWNLOAD version is $79.99
there is a free demo.
It may not be screen reader accessible but maybe someone can try it and tell
us.

Hi,

as far as I remember, this technique has been around 2008. I got my demo in
2008, in the summer of 2008 actually. It is not accessible, I tried it
with the newest jaws version then, and sonar 6. I couldn'T get it to work.
I hope someone get's it working, as I have some audio samples and like it
personally.

where do you get this it maybe something to wittle time away.
At 09:35 a.m. 22/10/2010, you wrote:
Their is also audio rumble as a fighting game, but I don't play it because
its so boring. Basically, you have in boxing jab, cross, hook and
uppercut, and they haven't included this, haymaker. The game also is very
symple. The guy says jab, and if your quick enough, you hit your enemy
with a strate punch. But in a real boxing match and in sighted games, the
apponent has a chance of dodging or blocking your attacks, but its not
like that in rumble. Also, no komintating about the match, just stuff like
oh, he's having bad luck... Stuff like that. And its not the punching
moves, but they say, duck, block, or go to the left or right. For an
example, you'd duck under a hook, which we call a wroll. Its like ducking
and turning. They could say enemy uppercut, and you could block the punch.
Also, the game gives you enough time to hit. That should be like 5
seconds. And also, they don't really have boxing language in that game.
And the sounds are so fake. You can play it if you want to, I am not
stopping any one, but I am just saying my advice. What they should do with
the dodging moves is to do with the subject, because that game is so
boring. If they were to say duck in a sighted game, you'd win, wouldn't
you? But I also wonder if their are like running games out their.

Lol, actually since Lei is Cantonese, it sort of, and I mean sort of,
makes

sense he goes English- it's how he's generally depicted in anime and the
motion pictures.
One game that has real good English voices in my opinion is the Maximum
impact games- especially the second one- that's one of my all time
favorite

games.
And yes, some games sound just awful when done in English lol- I think
the

Bloody Roars games got very bad reviews for that in particular.
Ah, also Toshinden III, I love that game but again, the English dialogs
make

me cringe.
This issue's not just limitted to fighting games however. I remember
Resident Evil I- the English voices sounded so forced and fake.
Barry? Where is Barry?!

This litterally just came through from ian humphries and spoonbill software,

so I thought I better pass it along.

Actually, I'm rather looking forward to this one myself.

Subject: Release of BG Brainiac 1.0

 Hi,
This is Ian Humphreys from Spoonbill Software.

 Ian Humphreys

[Audyssey] a note from Brazil to everyone, espec ially developers seeking advertizement

2010-10-22 Thread Mauricio Almeida
Dear all,

Let me start this message by throwing some statistics out there.
Blind games brasil has had more than 89900 visitors since july 23,2008;
we are responsible for the translation of several titles, and had
great relationships with developers so far.

in return, we expose your work to all the brazilian community that rely
on us to be entertained.
Do you have an awesome project that you'd like to sell? we will place
your link, as well as order links out there if you allow translations to
be made.
Do you need a little more incentive to code? I believe over 250
suggestions from our mailing list members wouldn't do you any bad:).
are you just a starter that want to promote what you do to a different
public? well, the brazilians love learning to adapt to new challenges,
and we will make sure they see you!
What do we ask in return for such a wonderful opportunity?
our portuguese translations at your webpage, as well as our link.
in the case of shareware products, we also would like you to keep in mind we
will not interfere on any of
your sales, and we do not take responsibility or give any guarantee of
profit. we do, however, orient portuguese users on how to order.

we did this with blastbay's q9 several times, and the portuguese
version isn't even out yet:).

Now you ask: i don't have time to translate, oh my god, what do i do?
we reply: You do not. that's our job.
all you have to do is send us text files with file names and what is in
them in english, or the sounds of your game to allow our recorders to
hear them. (sounds are deleted after translation).
How about payments? you don't pay us any thing unless you want to.

for more information, contact
internatio...@audiogames.com.br
with your questions, or with your game titles you want to see out there.
the translation in engish of our website is *not* complete yet, but if
you would like to take a peek at something yet being tested, go to

[Audyssey] Release Date Set For Three-D Velocity

2010-10-22 Thread Karl Belanger
The following was posted today by Munawar on the audiogames.net forums. I
have no other information at this time.

The release date for Three-D Velocity has been determined. We anticipate a
release
on or before November 15th, 2010. Get ready to be thrown into a world where
everything
from betrayal to death is possible, where you can't just close your eyes and
pretend it's not happening, where you stand one final, slim chance against
the world's worst nightmare come true, and where the only hope for humanity
is a team of the best fighter
jet pilots and military personnel called Storm Falcon. With just one
aircraft, the
fate of the world, starting with the fate of the world's superpower, is in
your hands.

As the game enters the final testing phase, we are doing all we can to
ensure that
the release is as problem-free as possible. The full game will no longer use
the
Web Installer because of reported problems while downloading the setup
program. Instead,
we have opted to allow the user to download the full game directly from the
site,
with both 32-bit and 64-bit binaries packaged into one installer. Just like
the Web
Installer, the full install will make sure you have all the necessary
prerequisites
before it will allow you to install the game.

Three-D Velocity can run on Windows XP, Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit),
and Windows
Seven (32-bit and 64-bit.) Windows 2000 and earlier are no longer supported.

Based on your continued feedback, we have fixed several bugs and made
countless improvements
to the game. We would like to thank all of you who took the time to send in
suggestions
and constructive criticism. After two and a half years of development, we
are finally
ready to roll out the first ever fully accessible fighter jet simulation for
blind
and visually impaired gamers.

Three-D Velocity will retail for $50.00 USD, plus any tax and processing
fees. We
estimate the final price to be near $53.00 USD.

There will be a kick off sale on this title, whose sale price is yet to be
determined.

Note: If you participated in the Documentation Test Cycle with BPC and
qualified for
a fifty percent discount on the game, this discount can ONLY be applied to
the full
retail price and will NOT be applied to the discounted price.

Three-D Velocity is not available on physical media at this time.

You may subscribe to the BPC Discussion Email list to stay informed about
the progress
of the release. Subscription details are on our home page.

and constructive criticism.

Assunto: [Audyssey] Release Date Set For Three-D Velocity

Re: [Audyssey] Release Date Set For Three-D Velocity

2010-10-22 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Sadd,
Unfortunately no. The game is written in Microsoft's C# .NET language
and uses SlimDX as a .NET wrapper for DirectX. While it would be
possible to port the game to Mono for the Mac and use something like
SDL .NET for input and audio output I doubt BPC is really interested
in rewriting the game's core at this late date to support Linux and
Mac OS. As an avid Linux user myself I know exactly how you feel about
having your personal favorite OS ignored by the majority of game
developers. Fortunately, we still have the option of using VMPlayer
etc to at least run Windows applications in a virtual machine.

Occasionally, even Heihachi. I don't know. No SF character is liable
to kill characters unless you count akuma. The animes and movies are
actually considered non-canon to the storyline of the game, is what the
concensus it seems.

And zangief cannot meet my Guy... lol. As for Vega and Juri marying?

Hello Thoas, I have been playing you're beta of Mota and I absolutely love
it. the pan works as expected. oddly enough, in the previus beta that I
played, no blue screen happened on when I exited the game. I do have a
suggestion for the next BETA which I believe is beta16. Could you add in the
ability to close doors? what I mean is, when you've exited a room, could you
have the ability to press the enter key on a statue or a door to move it
back into place?

Wel, I think when you're confronted with someone like Jinpachi who has a
face sticking out o his chest.. your first reaction is shock. And because
it's a martial arts tournament, I would imagine firearms aren't allowed..
unless you're Jack, that is.

Don't get me wrong, I like villins too.. I love playing as Kazuya.
Occasionally, even Heihachi. I don't know. No SF character is
liable to kill characters unless you count akuma. The animes and movies
are actually considered non-canon to the storyline of the game, is what
the concensus it seems.

And zangief cannot meet my Guy... lol. As for Vega and Juri marying?
Lord forbid...

Re: [Audyssey] fighting games

2010-10-22 Thread Johnny Tai
Righto, email me offline if you wanna talk about um,
none-game-related-things...lol
Lol, how about Crimson Viper in street fighter- she uses special gloves to
aid her fight rofl... But again, if Vega's allowed his claw, and I'm not
even going to get into Rolento fromt he Alpha series...
I remember in Toshinden three, there's a guy who's super includes him
emptying two clips of ammo into the enemy...looks impressive as hell and
then you see the enemy's still standing- you just get left with the feeling
of... uh!

Wel, crimson viper is crimson viper. She's a weird girl. Do you have SF 4
for the pc?
Well, Vega with the claw... you know as much as SF s based off a martial
arts tournament, it eventually branches out to just more than that. lol. And
people in the Marvel VS. capcom games have firearms too, so I guess it isn't
that out of line.
