[Audyssey] Sryth Phantom Assassin.

2008-06-20 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi all,
Ok, what does it take to defeat the Phantom Assassin? I have just lost
three runes of life because of this low down, good for nothing, mother
huncher. I can't seam to defeat this guy no matter what I try.
If I try to blast him with elementalism he resists it making it almost
impossible to get a shot in at him using any magic. when I try to go
after him in a strictly sword fighting style attack he is still laying
damage on me left and right. It gives me messages like he batters his
way through your defenses and lays a brutal stroke on you for 23
damage. If it happened once it would be understandable but after every
other roll? It sounds like this guy is practically impossible to defeat
with out say 150 stamina.
FYI, I have even tried taking on this mother huncher using the Hale
Blade. While the Hale Blade would heal my injuries I noticed it would
only restore 3 or 4 sp. That isn't enough considering the
twenty-something in damage he is hitting me with. I need something with
a lot more firepower I guess.

What did you say your MR was? I wouldn't recommend going after him until
it's at least seventy, the higher the better. Then you'll at least be
causing damage to him. Actually if you can get your MR to seventy-three or
so you should do all right as far as the damage. As for his specials, you
must just be particularly unlucky. I haven't often had the situation you're
describing.

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth Phantom Assassin.

2008-06-20 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi,
Oh, that totally sucks. My mr is at 66, and I am unable to get it any
hire than that. As i stated earlier when I started up this new character
I initially spend all my experience on powers such as restoration and
elementalism. If I had put all the experience into weapon skills it be
upt to 70 mr right now or higher. Now, I am finding it difficult to find
adventures that are in my stat range that I can actually beat, and get a
lot of experience in return so I can get up to 70 weapon and 70 slashing.

[Audyssey] Sryth: phantom assassin inquiry

2007-12-27 Thread acarthon
Hi list,
I don't know if this applies to me or not, but Here I go.
I have read and heard that the Phantom assassin items are no longer
available via the special events, but are now available via the haunting
in Durnsig adventure.
Is this true? I am currently about to start the phantom assassin event
and I am wondering if I will be able to get the various items. I
completed the haunting in Durnsig adventure earlier this year and didn't
get any of the special items mentioned on this list.
Another question I have is how many assassins are there? 8 or 9? I have
found 8 hideouts so far.
Thanks,
AC

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth: phantom assassin inquiry

2007-12-27 Thread Shadow Dragon
If you mean the special items as in Tsal-Kagoth, the dragonwing breastplate
and the like, you can't get them through the phantom assassin quest anymore,
the only way to get one of them is through the haunting in Durnsig quest,
and then you can only have one, whereas back in the day you could get in
theory as many as you wanted.

There are nine in total, including the PPhantom himself. But either those
items are no longer available or they're just extremely tough to find,
because even while they were supposedly available I never found them. But I
always play that even for the money you can get from the assassins' weapons,
and of course the Ring of Long Shadows as well.

Actually when it comes to weapons I've noticed that Mezaryl is the best
person to sell to. She'll give you like 700 or so for Blalak's Broadsword
versus the 300 or whatever you get from Bryniver. Granted sometimes he gives
you a better price on certain magical weapons but most of the time Mezaryl's
the one you should see.

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth phantom assassin

2007-06-18 Thread Xiao Long Nu
Hello Ron,
You receive a weapon each time you defeat the phantom assassin or one of his
members. They are decent weapons, but I can't think of one that is better
than the hail blade. However, those are set weapons. You will also receive
a good ring after you defeat the phantom assassin himself. At the end of
the adventure, you will be told that there are more items that can be found.
Unfortunately, these are not set, but they are no longer available. Those
items are the same as the ones found in the pumpkin patch adventure. If
your melee is in the high 60's to 70's, then you shouldn't have any
problems.

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth phantom assassin

2007-06-18 Thread Bryan Peterson
Sryth is a browser based fantasy game. You control a hero you create s he or
she explores the kingdom of Tysa, embarking on all manner of quests and
collecting various tems, weapons and pieces of armor. You might also have
the chance to learn magic if you create a character with the right stats.
Part of the game is free, but you get a lot more content if you subscribe,
and the price is more than reasonable considering all you get. If you're
interested in learning more about the game or joining the adventure, the URL
is www.sryth.com. Because it's largely text based it works excellently with
screeen readers. Even what graphics there are have handy text tags that make
it possible for us to know what they represent. Ever since he discovered
that manyof his players were blind, he's become extremely committed to
keeping the game as accessible as possible. I've been playing for nearly
three years.

much better, with a masssive 26 melee rating boost. The hale blade is a
great weapon simply for its full heals, but those only come about
occasionally and now with shadow magic, you can heal yourself manually
anyway. Or restoration if you have it. I'd personally recommend switching
the hale blade out if you're still using it. Its up to you though if you're
willing to sacrifice 20 or so points of melee rating for full heals.

 Hello Ron,
You receive a weapon each time you defeat the phantom assassin or one of
 his
members. They are decent weapons, but I can't think of one that is better
than the hail blade. However, those are set weapons. You will also
 receive
a good ring after you defeat the phantom assassin himself. At the end of
the adventure, you will be told that there are more items that can be
 found.
Unfortunately, these are not set, but they are no longer available. Those
items are the same as the ones found in the pumpkin patch adventure. If
your melee is in the high 60's to 70's, then you shouldn't have any
 problems.

 Hi all

Do the items change in the phantom every couple hours like they did with
the pumpkin adventure? If so I seriously need to get a better weapon as
 I'm
 still using the hail blade.

I'd happily give up the hail blade if I could find something better. I
agree those few points of health aren't always that great. I like the sound
of the one you mention below. Maybe I can find it somewhere.

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth phantom assassin

2007-06-18 Thread Xiao Long Nu
Hello Ron,
My mistake. I thought you meant you were looking for a better weapon from
the Phantom Assassin. Shadow dragon is right. The sword he is talking
about is available from Tally's for 232 Adventurer Tokens. Also, just as an
after thought, another weapon you may want to consider is the Demonscourge
which is available at no charge once you have completed the Runeskin
adventures. It is a bashing weapon with 15 melee with an additional 40
melee when facing demons. Another to consider is the giantfell blade which
is a slashing weapon with 10 melee and plus 20 against giants. This is
found by completing the giants part 3. Of corse, there are other weapons
through Tally's, but it all depends on how many adventure tokens you have
and plan to spend. If you are not planning to spend any tokens however, the
demonscourge or giantfell blade might be a good idea. Although the
demonscourge has more melee, it still depends on whether or not you have the
weaponry subskills of weaponry bashing and weaponry slashing and how high is
your current level with each. If you are looking for more melee, the ring
you will get for defeating the phantom assassin will give 5 melee and if you
haven't defeated runeskin yet, you might want to do that because you will
get the runeskin's ring with will give 5 melee and 5 stamina. That's all I
can think of for now. Hope that helps.

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth phantom assassin

2007-06-18 Thread Shadow Dragon
Taydrii's warsword is the best weapon you can buy from Tallys's trading
post. If you don't feel like donating for tokens, or can't gather up enough
of them from proving grounds and such things, you can always go for the
exalted diamond longsword. You can get that in A Hauting in Dirnsig. Its one
of the random items you get at the end if you haven't already done that
quest. Tsal Kagoth is another alternative, its roughly the exact same as the
exalted diamond longsword, with 18 melee and about the same stat boosts, but
it slowly drops your characters alignment as you use it. Hmm. Other than
that I'm not sure what you could replace the hale blade with if you've
already exhausted all those options. I suppose you could snag demonscourge
provided your weaponry bashing levels are decent, that's a pretty nice
weapon. The giantfell blade from stonesong in my opinion is also a little
better than the Hale Blade. Personally I'd recommend donating for some
adventurers tokens and buying awesome equipment from Tallys's, but if you
don't have money to throw around I guess there are other alternatives.

Re: [Audyssey] Sryth phantom assassin

2007-06-18 Thread Bryan Peterson
Taydrii's Warsword can be found in Tallys' Trading Post outside Trithik, but
it's very xpensive. The only reason I have it now is because I had some
Adventurer Tokens from the various Proving Grounds and I was able over time
to donate enough money to trade in the necessary bonus points to get more
tokens. But it is well worth the price, as is the Gryphon Emblazoned Shield,
which has an MR of 14. So ideally you would add another forty points to your
MR with both those items, but again they're quite spendy so you may have to
wait if you do want them both.
