Re: [Audyssey] football and baseball

2013-06-16 Thread Jim Kitchen

Hi Josh,

Yes, and my Windows games that started out as dos games still have most of the
code from the dos versions. That is why they are similar. But I can do much
more with sounds in VB6 and DirectX than I could with a third party wave file
player program in dos.

As I said a couple of days ago, my Life game has line numbers from back when I
wrote it in GWBasic. Or maybe it was even BasicA on an IBM PC Jr.

Jim

Toto, I don't think we're in DOS anymore...

[Audyssey] football and baseball

2013-06-14 Thread Josh Kennedy

hi jim,
I see your point here in not changeing your games too much. Me and my
friends grew up with them back in the early 90s through the 2000s and
now into the 2000 teen years. If the games are changed and stuff then
they won't be the games me, jason and dennis grew up with. in fact once
jason brings his disks with the old dos games on them, then we could
play those in a windows xp virtual machine or a vinux4 vm with dosemu.
even your dos games are similar to the windows ones. in fact I would say
especially football baseball golf and some others like the casino are
collectors or classics now. and I am so glad I got them working in
windows7. I guess when I get a windows8 machine i'll be installing swamp
running the .bat file to register dll files and stuff putting all your
games into my documents to make sure they work and should be able to
play them far into the future.
