Hi thanvin.

You've obviously killed the inteligence bases, and now just need to find the
bridge. The river runs across the north of the area, and the only way to
corss it is the bridge, so if you keep going along the river you'll come to
it eventually.

what you might have trouble hereing is the phrase bridge abutment which
just means the two walls on the sides of the bridge.

As I said, if you look in the manual there's a complete walkthru which even
I believe has the coordinates of the bridge on it.

Hi john.

funny, I always thought raul used sterrio mikes which he mentioned.

That sounds wy more complex than I really want to go, heck I don't even
have a mike for my computer at the moment, and even when i did, i could
never get any of that recording shenanigans to work. The only reliable
method I have is my rowland voice recorder, which will reccord either
directly through it's sterrio mikes, or through a sterrio cable plugged into
the input.

if I could get my voice to come out of my computer speakers along with
whatever the game was, I could run everything through my rowland, but even
when i had a working mike there was no way of doing that, so I've concluded
the hole recording thing is far too much trouble, and will just have to
stick to using the rowland's sterrio mikes in future.

Hi, in the cases where I used stereo mics they were fed through a preamp
connected to the line-in. But the actual recording of the computer
recording wav, mic, and line-in is the same as I described it in another

Thanks.

Hi, good guess, but that's way too complicated. Actually what I did was
set the recorder to record all output from the sound card. This includes
wave output, and mic output and line in output. In my recording game
situation, only wave and microphone were needed. This way it's just one
single recording and it already has my voice in it as I play. Far simpler
than how you described it. *smile*.

Hi dark,
The difference here is that Raul isn't really recording from speakers.
What he's doing is recording the output from his soundcard, and mixing
in a recording of his voice.
The way you would accomplish this would be to:
1. Set your default recording device to be your soundcard. I'm not sure
how you do this on xp, but it's somewhere in the sound properties, under
recording.
2. Once you've got your machine set up to record from the soundcard, you
can use any recording program (the default one works fine) set up
something to capture your voice. THis could be your recorder.
3. Start both recordings are nearly (as close as possible for mixing
purposes) the same time, and begin playing. as you play, everything that
your computer sends out will be recorded, and your voice, will be taken
care of by your recorder.
4. Once your done recording, get both recordings somewhere you have
access to them. If possible, make sure they're wav files.
5. The following presumes you have the windows xp sound recorder program
installed and working. Once you're done recording, open up one of the
files (preferably the one you started first). Once that's open,
(guessing here on the menus) go to special (or edit possibly) and choose
mix with file. A dialogue should pop up, point it to your other file. If
you opened your voice recording, point the recorder to your soundcard
recording, or vice versa.
6. Finish mixing the files by choosing ok or mix (I forget which one it
is). Once your done mixing, fix the volume of the file so that you can
here everything. If the soundcard recording is at a low volume, candle
your changes, open that recording and raise the volume. If the voice is
low, do the same. It shouldn't be to hard to get the two file to nearly
the same volume.
7. ONce you've got both files mixed and audible, save your changes. You
now have a full recording with both your voice and stereo sound.

If this is really confusing, your can download sound tap from
www.nchsoftware.com
and get that installed. This program will allow you to record directly
from your soundcard, and if you have a microphone, it will allow you to
record from both devices at once. The program has a fifteen day trial,
and is entirely accessible.

Hopefully this message made sense. If it didn't feel free to email me
off-list, and I can guide you through the steps.

Once you've destroyed the 3 bases and all the tanks, check your mission is
complete with f2 then head for the river and the bridge. You should hear it
say Artillary once you hear that line up with it, to do this use your x
key and if the beeps for artillary sound dead ahead, use your tab key until
you're linned up. Be careful you don't hear the bridge mentioned too with
the tab key, if so you could destroy it by fireing on it. What you have to
do is move backwards slowley until you just hear artillary with the tab key,
even if you don't hear the targeting system you can still shoot him, so if
it says artillary 74 metres then ajust your range with your shells
accordingly and shoot it, then check with your tab key and you should hear
it tell you there is now burning equipment. After that just head for the
bridge and accross it to the town, then you've completed it.

Hi.

to complete the stages in gma tank commander you don't just need to kill the
enemies, but actually look at what the mission's objective is.

In the first mission for instance, you need to destroy the three inteligence
bases and then cross the bridge to the north.

You can here the bases, they sound like radio chatter. When you've destroyed
all of them, no matter what enemy tanks and copters are left, just head to

Once you've destroyed the 3 bases and all the tanks, check your mission is
complete with f2 then head for the river and the bridge. You should hear
it say Artillary once you hear that line up with it, to do this use your
x key and if the beeps for artillary sound dead ahead, use your tab key
until you're linned up. Be careful you don't hear the bridge mentioned
too with the tab key, if so you could destroy it by fireing on it. What
you have to do is move backwards slowley until you just hear artillary
with the tab key, even if you don't hear the targeting system you can
still shoot him, so if it says artillary 74 metres then ajust your range
with your shells accordingly and shoot it, then check with your tab key
and you should hear it tell you there is now burning equipment. After
that just head for the bridge and accross it to the town, then you've
completed it.

Good luck from Lori.

Re: [Audyssey] shades of doom recordings

2011-08-30 Thread john

Hi dark,
The difference here is that Raul isn't really recording from
speakers. What he's doing is recording the output from his
soundcard, and mixing in a recording of his voice.

The way you would accomplish this would be to:
	1. Set your default recording device to be your soundcard.
I'm not sure how you do this on xp, but it's somewhere in the
sound properties, under recording.
	2. Once you've got your machine set up to record from the
soundcard, you can use any recording program (the default one
works fine) set up something to capture your voice. THis could be
your recorder.
	3. Start both recordings are nearly (as close as possible
for mixing purposes) the same time, and begin playing. as you
play, everything that your computer sends out will be recorded,
and your voice, will be taken care of by your recorder.
	4. Once your done recording, get both recordings somewhere
you have access to them. If possible, make sure they're wav
files.
	5. The following presumes you have the windows xp sound
recorder program installed and working. Once you're done
recording, open up one of the files (preferably the one you
started first). Once that's open, (guessing here on the menus) go
to special (or edit possibly) and choose mix with file. A
dialogue should pop up, point it to your other file. If you
opened your voice recording, point the recorder to your soundcard
recording, or vice versa.
	6. Finish mixing the files by choosing ok or mix (I forget
which one it is). Once your done mixing, fix the volume of the
file so that you can here everything. If the soundcard recording
is at a low volume, candle your changes, open that recording and
raise the volume. If the voice is low, do the same. It shouldn't
be to hard to get the two file to nearly the same volume.
	7. ONce you've got both files mixed and audible, save your
changes. You now have a full recording with both your voice and
stereo sound.

If this is really confusing, your can download sound tap
from

www.nchsoftware.com
and get that installed. This program will allow you to
record directly from your soundcard, and if you have a
microphone, it will allow you to record from both devices at
once. The program has a fifteen day trial, and is entirely
accessible.

Hopefully this message made sense. If it didn't feel free to
email me off-list, and I can guide you through the steps.

set the recorder to record all output from the sound card. This includes

playing level 1 through level 8. I forget the difficulty I did it on since
that was several years ago though. Also, I've played this game long enough
that I can now easily beat it on difficulty 5 with no cheats and no
problems. So, it's definitely doable.

Hi Dark, that's why I think a recording of Time of Conflict would be so
handy to have, it's good to work out your own way of doing things, but if
you hear someone do it first it kind of gives you an idea of how to get
started. I too have all of Raul's recordings, the pipe 2 ones in particular
have me in fits a lot of the time, I'd like to do my own walkthrough of
Shades of Doom, but I can't get my voice to record at the same time as
playing the game using Goldwave.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew of some complete game recordings done
of sod on a difficulty level of higher than one.
If so, could you let me know where I can find them, or send me an archive? I
can handle split archives, and can send you another email address, if file
size is a serious issue. Also, I've been wondering if there are any
recordings (not reviews) done of version 1.0.

Re: [Audyssey] shades of doom recordings

2011-08-28 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi John,

Its like anything else in life. The more practice an experience you
have the easier it gets. I've beaten Today is a Good Day to Die I.E.
difficulty level 5 a few times. Although, most of the time if I want
something that is not too hard or too easy I play the game on the
Bring Them On Level. What I've found is simply this.

If you play level 1, beat it, then you need to try level 2 and
practice with that level. Yes, it will be harder but it will press you
to try harder and react faster etc. After you beat level 2 then try
level 3 and so on. The harder the experience or difficulty level you
play at the more you have to learn and practice to over come the game.
That's how I and many others can play the game on any difficulty level
and have beaten it at all difficulty levels. We practiced each and
every one of them until we finally managed to do it without cheat
codes etc.

Cheers!

We practiced each and
every one of them until we finally managed to do it without cheat
codes etc.

Cheers!

really be a spoiler.
Also on the subject of spoiler's, if a game is good enough
(which all of gma's games are) hereingt a recording of it should
have no impact on the amount of enjoyment you get.

Re: [Audyssey] shades of doom recordings

2011-08-28 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Charles,

Yes, in deed. That's replay value at its best. What I hate more than
anything else is to buy a game and complete it on every difficulty
level in a single sitting. Generally an ideal game would take days
maybe a week or more to complete.

When I just started playing Shades of Doom I failed many many times
before I completed the game. I think I played the game practically for
a month straight before I beat it on the can I play daddy level.
Once I did, though, I found it was slightly easier to do it again and
again. Once I was sure I could successfully complete that level I
tried the don't hurt me level as it was slightly more challenging
and so on. I just didn't give up, call it impossible, and quit. I
stuck to it until I finally managed to beat all five difficulty
levels. Very few audio games have challenged me as much as Shades of
Doom which is why I have a lot of respect for GMA's titles.

Cheers!

Why would you want a recording of the intire game playthrough? That would
spoil the game.

2011-08-27 Thread Darren Duff
Rather then listening to a recording why don't you try and get better at it
by playing the game the hole way through on a higher difficulty? Believe me
it's doable I know because I have done it on level 5 before. It took a long
time and it's been many years but I have done it I can tell you that's much
more fun then listening to someone else doing it. Just a thought. IF you
were to get a recording I would think someone could record at least level
one on a higher difficulty. I don't think you are going to find someone that
would record the entire game for you...
